Kieran McCahill, Managing Director of Ferrymill Motors, Torrance, Glasgow has been declared the winner of the Volvo Masters Amateur Golf competition in Europe and so he goes forward to represent his country in Bahrain in February 2011, now just weeks away.
Having been through the Volvo Masters UK rounds, Kieran qualified third in Edinburgh in July and went on to win first place in Gothenburg in September. He is clearly delighted to have done so well. He said, “It will be fantastic to play in Bahrain with some of the world’s most famous players and on a truly fabulous course. I can’t wait.”
Kieran will be taking part in the World final of the Volvo Masters Amateur competition in Bahrain from 27th January – 2nd February 2011 on one of the world’s most prestigious courses.
Unique among corporate golf events, the Volvo Masters Amateur competition runs side-by side with the world’s best pro golfers who will be in Bahrain to play their opening round of the European Professional Tour 2011. Kieran will be able to meet some of the top players and even have the chance to qualify to play against big ‘names’ like Colin Montgomerie.
Kieran seems relaxed at the prospect. He said, “However well I do in Bahrain, I will be more than happy. I must thank Volvo for organising such a wonderful tournament”
