VINCI Energies United Kingdom has today announced a partnership with Brighton-based Elektromotive, pioneers of the Elektrobay charging station, to install the world’s first fully-connected recharging infrastructure for pure electric and plug-in electric hybrid vehicles.
Brighton-based Elektromotive is to play a pivotal role in the introduction of an electric vehicle (EV) recharging infrastructure in Denmark, with the installation of the first Elektrobay roadside charging stations scheduled for completion in time for this month’s COP15 global climate change conference in Copenhagen (7 to 18 December).
Brighton-based Elektromotive has appointed green mobility experts, The PluginCompany, to install networks of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across Belgium and Luxembourg.
Elektromotive’s Managing Director, Calvey Taylor-Haw, has been honoured with Green Fleet’s 2009 ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ in recognition of his promotion of zero-emissions motoring in the UK and overseas.
City pushes for zero-emissions motoring with first roadside EV charging stations outside London
In a bid to increase cross-party political support for a shift towards zero-emissions motoring in the UK, Brighton-based Elektromotive is collaborating with car giant General Motors (GM) to educate MPs about emerging electric vehicle (EV) technologies and the need for a nationwide infrastructure of recharging stations.
The Government’s £25 million Ultra Low Carbon Vehicle Demonstrator scheme, which aims to accelerate a shift towards low-emissions motoring, will pave the way for the creation of the world’s biggest network of electric vehicle (EV) recharging stations.
