Daniel Lloyd will make his second consecutive appearance at the world famous Goodwood Festival of Speed next week, between 11th and 14th July, as an official representative of Porsche Cars GB and as an active participant in the competitive ‘Hillclimb’ at Lord March’s West Sussex estate.
As the greatest motorsport festival in the world, the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed is a major global attraction and is second only to the FIA Formula One World Championship’s British Grand Prix in terms of spectator attendance at a UK motor racing event, with 150,000 people visiting each year.
In his role as the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Scholar – the first driver in the history of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship to be awarded the accolade and accompanying bursary for two years in succession – the 21-year-old from Huddersfield will again be busy promoting the Porsche brand.
Making a huge impression on his Goodwood debut in 2012, Daniel was a star performer in the timed 1.16-mile Hillclimb and ended the final ‘Shoot-Out’ part of the contest an excellent sixth fastest at the wheel of his Porsche 911 GT3 race car.
“I’m absolutely buzzing about being invited back to Goodwood by Porsche”, said Daniel, “It’s such an amazing event, there’s nothing like it anywhere else in the world. I’m really looking forward to just being there, as well as meeting as many people as possible and having another crack at the hillclimb.
“I can’t thank Marion [Barnaby – Porsche Cars GB Motorsport Manager] and everyone else at Porsche GB enough. It’s such a fantastic opportunity again and an incredible event to be part of, to represent Porsche as the Carrrera Cup GB Scholar is massive. I can’t wait for the festival to start!”
Television highlights of the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed are scheduled to be screened on ITV4 and ITV4 HD at 21.00 on Thursday, 25th July. Please check listings for up-to-the-minute details.
