Buildbase Honda heads to Milton MX Park in Northampton this weekend for the fourth round of the ACU Maxxis British Motocross championship.
Currently sitting fourth in the standings, French ace Nico Aubin will be aiming high for podium finishes on the jump-filled, hard packed, man-made track – which should suit his flamboyant racing style.
Former world champion and Buildbase Honda rider Steve Ramon has been working hard with the team between rounds to improve on his performance and is hoping for strong and solid results from this weekend to boost his championship standing.
At present, Tommy Searle is leading the championship but due to Grand Prix commitments, it is unlikely he will compete at Milton, leaving Tanel Leok on the Route 77 Energy Honda effectively leading by 26 points from Kristian Whatley.
In MX2, Buildbase Honda announced this week that Stephen Sword will be retiring from competing in both the Maxxis and Red Bull Pro Nationals championships to concentrate on his position as head coach at the Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre.
Stephen Sword “In an ideal world, I would have liked to finish this season but right now I think it’s the right time to switch focus and devote 100% of my time and effort to this new project. I’m sure I will grab the opportunity to review my motocross career and of course there are so many people and companies I would like to thank for their help and support over the years, but for now I will be focussing on this new chapter in my life off the race track”.
