Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship racer Daniel Lloyd is delighted to welcome onboard a brand new local backer for the 2013 season, Huddersfield-based Continental Wine and Food, which will promote its Silver Bay Point wine through its association with the Scammonden sportsman.
CWF, which has been a leading wine and alcoholic drinks importer, producer, bottler and distributor since 1960, is embarking on motorsport sponsorship for the first time as part of a strategy to try and attract more male consumers to purchase Silver Bay Point – the number one British wine brand.
Figures gathered by the British Beer and Pub Association show a fall of 7.5% in sales of beer year on year in the off trade as more and more men opt to drink wine, meaning now is the perfect time for CWF to try and make the most of a growing target market.
Daniel’s Porsche 911 GT3 race car will feature Silver Bay Point livery on the bonnet throughout the 2013 season, affording the brand exceptional marketing presence in-front of an average of 30,000 trackside spectators each race weekend. Additionally, there will be millions more watching the Porsche Carrera Cup action live on Freeview, cable and digital satellite channel ITV4 during the year.

Daniel, who was recently named a British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) Rising Star and who will be the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Scholar this season for an unprecedented second time, is determined to help make it a successful year for the new partnership.
With that in mind, he’s already made a fantastic start to 2013. During the official pre-season test at Silverstone National Circuit yesterday, Thursday, 14th March, Daniel was second fastest overall and had been at the top of the times for much of the day until he was marginally shaded by defending Porsche Carrera Cup GB Champion Michael Meadows.

Three variants of Silver Bay Point are currently available to purchase, a soft juicy red, medium fragrant white and light refreshing rosé.
